The Eliza Gown Shines in Mykonos

Be inspired by Phoebe Papadopoulos’s wedding set on the island of Mykonos in Greece. The Eliza gown from Vera’s Fall 2010 Bridal Collection could not have been more fitting for this ceremony. reports…

Vogue Special Events Associate Phoebe Papadopoulos’s wedding to financier Nicolas de Croisset was a destination ceremony rooted in personal significance (the bride’s family hails from Thessaloniki). The nuptials took place on the steps of a small chapel at Santa Marina beach on the island of Mykonos and were conducted entirely in Greek. “Had it not been for the priest’s cues, my husband would have been completely lost!” jokes Papadopoulos. “At the end of the ceremony, Father Petros kindly asked me to translate a message of well-wishes to him.”

The bride opted for a lace Vera Wang dress. “When I tried it on, I couldn’t believe how incredibly comfortable it was,” explains Papadopoulos. “The skirt is quite full, but it’s made entirely of tulle, so it is very light and airy. I immediately felt as if I were on the beach, dancing until dawn.”
