First things first, where did you meet your husband and was it love at first site? Jon and I met at one of our favorite hangouts in the city, the Rusty Knot in the West Village. I would have never imagined meeting my husband so unexpectedly but I definitely had a funny feeling about him after our chance meeting.

How did he propose? Tell us the story! Jon surprised me with a spontaneous weekend getaway to Milford, PA, a cute historic town a couple hours outside NYC. We stayed at the amazing Hotel Fauchere, enjoying the classic French cuisine and old-world hospitality. Jon proposed back in the hotel room after dinner. It is all a blur but I remember seeing Jon on his knee and hearing “please say yes” – I was utterly speechless, it was so surreal.

Once the wedding plans started, what made you decide on a Vera Wang gown? I was kind of all over the map when I had started shopping for the dress but wearing Vera Wang on my wedding day has always been a dream. After trying many different styles of dresses, when I tried the Georgina gown, I knew my search was over.

As Vera has started to veer away from traditional white/ivory gowns shown in her recent Fall 2012 Collection, was an alternate color something you considered? I love her new alternate color gowns – they are incredibly beautiful and one of a kind. But I knew I wanted to be traditional and stuck to an ivory gown.

How did you accessorize to make your wedding day unique? I wore a raw edge veil to have a simple yet dramatic look with the cathedral length to accessorize the stunning back details of the Georgina dress, which is my favorite! I paired the dress with sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes.

What was the inspiration or theme for your wedding? Classic, romantic, fun and intimate – that’s the feel we were going for. Blush and white/ivory were my color schemes and tons of vendela roses and hydrangeas set the romantic theme of the wedding. Most importantly, we wanted to create an evening of love, laughter, and happiness with our closest friends and family.

What tips do you have for new brides picking out their wedding dress? This is your day. Wear a dress that makes you happy. Have a person or two with you that you truly trust whether that is your mom or a friend. For me, that was my mom and my friend Bryan who I could not have done this without.

What was your favorite part of the day? And, are there any other anecdotes you would like to share? The ceremony and reception were a wonderful blur, but during our car ride back, things sort of came back into focus and we were able to laugh and live the moment as husband and wife.
