“Strangers do not take Esparza for a boxer. A track-and-field athlete, perhaps, or a runner, but at five-feet three and 112 pounds she is neither brawny nor particularly fierce-looking…” reports Nathaniel Rich.
“It’s super embarrassing,” says Esparza, “but one reason that I would like, maybe, to be somewhat famous is that I want to wear a Vera Wang dress when I get married. Sleek, romantic, with some sort of lace. I’ve thought about it a hundred times. I even buy bridal magazines sometimes. I’m obsessed with getting married…”
Talk about, “women can do anything!” We can’t wait to see Marlen Esparza competing for the gold medal at the upcoming 2012 London Olympics, and one day, walking down the isle in a Vera Wang gown!
