The Icing on the Cake

The honeymoon period really is the icing on the cake! Being wedding season also means it’s honeymoon season, so in case you’re yet to book a destination or you’re still searching for the perfect spot, here are five of Vera’s favorite honeymoon getaways!

Hotel Cipriani, Venice: The hotel is classic and elegant. It’s set apart from the city on a separate island and you can only get there by private boat. The views from the outdoor restaurant are beautiful.

Cala Di Volpe, Sardinia: I love this place; it’s inspired by an old fishing village. The rooms are all white with little accents of color and feel so relaxing and peaceful. It has its own private beach, too!

Sandy Lane, Barbados: I visit every Christmas. It’s heaven – it’s intimate, exclusive and private. It’s easy.

Four Seasons George V, Paris: We used to have a property in Paris but now I stay here when I’m in the city. It’s stunning and romantic. It has that glamorous, old-school feel to it and you can’t help but feel special. It’s close to the Champs-Elysees and its echelon-starred restaurant Le Cinq is incredible.

Caryle, New York: If I have friends coming to New York and they need a hotel, I always recommend the Carlyle. It’s very special to me – it’s on the Upper East Side where I grew up, just off Central Park, near all the great fashion boutiques.

“I treasure getting away. Being able to escape is when I feel the most relaxed. I can get in touch with my thoughts.” Vera Wang
