Did you have a certain style in mind when you started your search for a dress?
I had 2 exact dresses in mind when I flew to New York from Canada. I had done a lot of research, and knew I would be wearing one of those dresses on my wedding day.
What made you decide on your Vera Wang gown?
I tried on one other gown before I stepped into the Diana. I just knew it was the one; the way it made me feel was exactly the way I wanted to feel as I walked down the aisle to marry the man of my dreams.
Did you bring anyone along dress shopping? If so, did their opinions influence your final decision?
My close friend came shopping with me. When I put on the Vera Wang gown, I fell in love with it. She thought it was stunning and felt the same way I did.
How did you accessorize to make your wedding day outfit unique?
The dress was so gorgeous on its own , and adding a statement necklace and Ferragamo peep-toe pumps took it to the next level.
What was the inspiration or theme for your wedding?
When we decided to get married in Paris, we wanted it to be elegant, romantic and charming. The Hotel Particulier we chose had a luxurious vibe and overlooks the Place Vendome. We envisioned a dreamy event that we would cherish for a lifetime. It couldn’t have been better; fresh snow had fallen the night before our wedding, and the Place Vendome was all lit up for the holidays, making for a stunning backdrop.
Did your gown style relate to any other design elements of the wedding?
The dress is glamorous and has an element of drama, which worked beautifully with the details of the reception. The architectural folds and pleats were the inspiration for bringing in modern pieces to play against the decadence of the venue.
What was your favorite part of the day?
There were so many beautiful moments that day. Marrying my soul mate, being surrounded by loved ones and celebrating in Paris made for an unforgettable day. We had so much fun when we got our photos taken around the city; our photographers captured the essence of our love and made us feel like we had the city all to ourselves.
What tips do you have for new brides picking out their wedding dress?
Pick the dress that makes you feel devastatingly beautiful and irresistible.
Are there any other anecdotes you’d like to share?
Take time at the start of your day to remember what is truly important; you are marrying the love of your life, and this is a celebration of that love.
