Behind the Dress: Eleanor

Eleanor Gown

Making an unforgettable entrance is a hallmark of cinema’s heroines. For a bride, the walk down the aisle is perhaps the grandest entrance (and exit) you will ever make. Every detail should be considered, most of all the back of your wedding dress.

The visual importance of the back is a crucial perspective I incorporate into the conception and design of all of my wedding dresses. With Eleanor, I created an artistic back sweep with the tulle-flower embroidered skirt, reembroidered the buttons down the back of the wedding dress and tied the bow in front as well as the back such that the sashes trail romantically behind the bride.

Eleanor is a beautiful picture from all angles.

The bow for Eleanor is made of horsehair, which adds texture with its transparency and structure in that the fabric is stiff enough to hold a form or shape. Horsehair is an important addition to my design palette this season.
